Hayden: Cool Light Beauty

In the possette: sweet, with a green undertone. On wet: There's an initial rush of green scent, like what you get when you squish a dandelion stem between your fingers and then bring them up to your nose to sniff. Initial drydown: There's a light creamy musk coming out to play, the creamy sweetness ...

Titanium White

I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting to like this one at all when I got it as a frossette with my bottle order. Tropical florals tend to make me sneeze. But this morning was hot, and I just wanted something light and airy, so I thought I should at least give it a try. And it's turned out beautifully, ...

Ultramarine Blue

This was the scent that first introduced me to Possets and made me fall in love. So of course, this was the one I had to get as a bottle during this 1+1=3 sale. I've gotten pretty good at picking out individual notes, with BPAL scents, but there are some that are so exquisitely blended that what you...

The Tisane of the Witch (Fall 2008)

Hmmm. On wet, the dominant note is an almost gingerbread cake scent. initial drydown: Oh, there's the tea behind it. I'm getting a smokey black tea with a hint of the spicy cake scent. Nice, but this is probably best left for fall on me. Later: This dries down with a sharpish undertone for me. I'll ...

Silver Roses

Well, at least now I've confirmed that it's not just BPAL rose scents where this happens. When I first applied, the rose aspect was light and sweet, and absolutely intermingled with a light vanilla creaminess. But within the first hour, the rose vanished completely. This happens with most of the ros...

Lavender Pepys (Spring 2010)

I think I was expecting more lavender in this blend, so when the first thing to develop on my skin was the creamy vanilla marshmallow scent, I was almost disappointed. Now that I've had it on for a bit, and I've had time to get past the surprise, I think it's lovely. This is very soft and light on t...

Limoncello: Giardino Rosmarino (Midsummer 2009)

Yum. This is a very tangy-fresh lemon scent, that reminds me both of lemon drops and lemon geranium. I'm not picking up rosemary, which somewhat saddens me, as I love the smell of rosemary. Guess I'll have to stick to smelling it in the front garden instead.

South Carolina (The USA Collection)

This has a darker spice edge to it. Someone mentioned dark chocolate and geraniums, and I think that's a pretty close match. It lightens as it dries, and then disappears pretty fast on my skin.

Huile of Fortune (Yule/ New Years 09)

This is warm, soft amber on my skin, which is love. I'm not detecting the vetiver, a definite plus, as vetiver smells like something is rotting on my skin. It must be acting like the touch of salt you add to some cookie recipes, just enough to kick the other scents into gear, but not noticed otherwi...
