Re: The "What are you wearing today and general impressions of it" thread :)

White Nights. It's a gorgeous sunny spring day and we just finished spreading 6 cubic yards of mulch. After a rejuvenating shower and scrubbing off all the grime, White Night's clean fresh elegance was just the ticket.

Re: Venus of Willendorf-100% Natural

I am always tempted by Fabienne's naturals and this was no exception. I was wondering if this would be a super strong and sweet citrus (I read that palmarosa has a lemony fresh scent), but it's not. In fact, there's a slightly bitter, pithy element I can't quite place. It reminds me of a rose otto e...

Re: Arrival of the Queen of Sheba (Handel)

Much love to Fabienne for including this as a froppet in my order! Wet, this is an incredibly rich, sweet, foody vanilla not unlike Reason, Arcturus, and some of Fabienne's other famous vanillas. It's almost coming across as butterscotch. The dry down is where it shines for me, thought. The suede no...

Re: Cambienne: White Night

Cold sniff from the bottle, it's all grapefruit. Once on, the citrus tones down and I catch just a tad of white grape, which must be the champagne. I was afraid the en pointe musk might be white (which tends to go shrill on me), but it is very subtle and light. I love mint, but am not getting it her...

Re: Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (Mozart)

Sometimes I read a list of notes and they just seem so unusual and unlike anything I have, I get it just because I can't imagine how it will turn out. I know that the tried and true combinations probably sell better, but I applaud and support scents that dare to be unique. I don't think I've ever se...

Love this one, too! On me it's more snuggly than animalic, and reminds me a bit of BPAL's Raven Moon or a non-powdery Haunted. It's like inky dark velvet that stays close to the skin.

Re: Beethoven's Fifth

Why is there not more love for this one? It's wonderful. I had forgot the notes when I tested it yesterday, but my mind registered a dark resiny softness like a thrumming rhythm bass riff. Then I get this weird little squiggle of a note bouncing on top of everything. I had forgot this had lime! I wo...

Just received my swap package from Palmademallorca today. I'm amazed it came so quickly from France! Thank you.

Re: Palladio (Jekins) 100% Natural

The first words that came to mind on a cold sniff was zingy and zen. The citrus is bright and cheerful without wandering into Lemon Pledge territory. The sage gives it a calming, grounding influence. This has the very interesting effect of making me alert and energized, yet cool and controlled. Glad...
