Re: 4 Seasons Summer
Thank you, that is great information, sillageslut. I was leaning toward this one and very interested, though I have really gone overboard with this summer's collection this year already and should restrain myself! I have Flying Horse so I was wondering how they compare with one another? I wasn't su...

Re: Review Requests and Random Stuff
A very good new mini series called Life in Squares on BBC2 started last night. It's about the Bloomsbury group, a group of writers, poets and painters, including Virginia Woolf, Lytton Strachey and John Maynard Keynes. A few of the painters and paintings from the Summer of Elegance are mentioned and...

Re: 4 Seasons Summer
I am really liking 4 Seasons Summer. It is green but not as green as Fijian Broach but, it is smoother. It is a very large collection this year but, I hope 4SS will be in the permanent catalog and it will definitely be getting my vote.

Re: Olympia (Manet)
Update: I just wanted to add that the musks and civet are fabulous. If you like rose and musk, you will love this.

Re: Review Requests and Random Stuff
If anyone got Olympia, Portrait of Mrs. Abington, or Luncheon on the Grass I'd really love it if you shared your thoughts!! I just posted my review for Olympia. I only purchased three scents this collection so my reviews are all posted. I might grab something else before the collection goes down if...

Re: Olympia (Manet)
I saw hawthorne & musk and I jumped but, this is a flower bomb on me. I still get the musk but, mostly a sweet rose. Not what I was expecting, I thought this would be a musky Wings of an Angel, which I would have loved. Olympia is a potent fragrance with huge sillage and longevity. On a bright n...

Re: Flying Horse (Chinese Bronze)
Marisaviola's review is pretty much dead on. I agree that the tea seems more like a lapsang souchong or chai rather than green tea, similar to Phyllotaxis's. The smokiness in the wet stage had me scared but as it dries down it becomes much softer. It's a spicy green scent and I'm not detecting any f...

Re: 4 Seasons Summer
I put some on fresh from the mail box so I will probably update this post in a few days. It goes on very green and sharp, similar to Fijian Broach but, the drydown is much different. The sandalwood, incense and silk emerge smoothing the edges. The incense in light, never too much and balances nicely...

Re: Review Requests and Random Stuff
I am on a budget this collection too. I started going through the new fragrances hoping that not many would intrigue me. No such luck! I am stoked about the bamboo as it is one of my favorite notes, also hawthorn, copal, green patchouli :), not the dry aged stuff (hoping the strawberry isn't too str...

Re: The Cocktail Party Survey
Fijian Broach and The Seductive Jesuit really deserved to make the permanent catalog and I am glad Amethyst made it because I was kicking myself for not getting a bottle. Lavender always scares the crap out of me but, Amethyst sounds perfect.
