Re: Yule Retour
Hi all, I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between Russian Dance and Gingerbread Whorehouse? Is one spicier/more foody than the other? Are they very similar? Thanks! The two are extremely different - at least on my skin. On me, Gingerbread Whorehouse is a mild gingerbread cake,...

Re: Lola Montez
Oh my gosh, after aging for a couple of months this is amazing. The grassy aspect lasts a lot longer now, but it merges beautifully with a rich dark heart of musky sexiness. The tonka lends an almost gourmand note of vanillic sweetness. This is so lush, I'm glad the Femmes are still up because this ...

Re: Cambienne: Eastern Star
Wow, now I know what all the fuss about the Cambiennes is about. This is the first one I've tried and it's so complex and multi-layered and morphs like crazy on me. It opens with a really sour, juicy grapefruit which I really enjoy, this is the exact type of citrus I want in my perfumes; bitter and ...

Re: Evita Peron
I'm wearing this again today and it is reminding me A LOT of Winter (Mucha) from the Yules collection which I know a lot of people loved. It seems much softer today with more of a gentle violet scent wafting through the leather. I am going to campaign hard for this one for permanents since Winter mi...

I've never tried that one so I'm afraid I can't compare the two, sorry!

Re: Salome
I agree, it's an odd one. Again, one that only certain skin chemistry will work on. I'm going to try it again, but I'm thinking it's vertiver that's not playing well with my skin in combo with other notes. Maybe the vanilla and coffee pulp? Yes, I think vetiver and I may just not be meant to be. It...

Re: Salome
This one went on wet smelling very similar to a lot of other perfume oils I've smelled before, so I was prepared for Salome to be nice, but not really anything different. Dry though, the vanilla and woods meld in a very unusual, but lovely way. If this is what Lady and a Baby Unicorn smelled like on...

Re: Mata Hari
In the sample vial this has that fresh, medicinal patchouli scent I really love with some lovely dark notes backing it up but once on my skin it goes sour so I don't think my skin chemistry agrees with this one, unfortunately.

Re: Jeanne DuVal Mistress of Charles Baudelaire
This is, in a word, spectacular. Wet: This is smooth and almost chocolaty. The labdanum provides a sharp, woody counterpoint to the luxurious, warm and sinuous musks and ambers. It smells a little like a wood shop full of fresh cut exotic woods still full of sap. I get the coffee scent that gypsiejo...
