Re: Gelato: Vaniglia

This is all vanilla cake and cinnamon on me -- the most candle-ish out of the Possets scents I've tried, but I still yummy.

Re: Madame X 3 (To the 3rd Power)

This, to me, is pretty much Madame X with an extra dollop of vanilla. Wish the yuzu/woods/vetiver had come out on my skin but this is lovely regardless. I think I actually prefer X^3 to original MX but the difference is pretty small.

Re: Thorns and All

Possets really has the best rose notes. This is just like walking into one of those freezers of roses at the flower shop. The smell of refrigerated roses and cold greenery is one of my favorite things in the world. I have noticed though, that it's extremely hard to preserve that "cold" scent on the ...

Re: Winter (Mucha)

Definitely grown-up Possets, and as others have mentioned, expensive-smelling. For fifteen minutes, almost all lavender and oakmoss, sharp and herbal. Then, the amber and woods come out, paired with something sweet I can't identify. The violet turns it a bit powdery, but in a classic, most feminine ...

Re: Judith Leyster Self Portrait

Carnation with a spike of mint and lime in the beginning, but then after ten minutes turns into pure carnation. Thankfully I love carnation scents, but the blast of cold sweetness paired with the calm spiciness of carnation in the beginning was truly special. Alas, mint and lime never last long, and...

Re: Sex in a Tree (Canturbury Tales)

weirdly, I can hardly smell anything when I first apply this. During the drydown, I can smell a bt of lime and almost scentless coconut rind. I will have to update this if it turns out something is making my nose temporarily anosmic to this scent.

Re: Pre Raphealite Seductress-Resinous

I love carnation so I'm happy to report that this is almost all carnation on me. It's really elevated and distinguished from other carnation perfumes by the musk/vanilla note, though. Carnation and feel anemic and flat on its own, despite the unique spiciness of its scent, but this is a full-bodied,...

Re: Arizona-Sage and Honeycomb (USA collection)

The honey note in this is perfect! Soft and golden and sweet. It's not artificial, drippy, squeezy-bear honey but not beeswaxy either; something in between. On me, it's about 70% honey and the rest is sage. I'm not the biggest fan of herbal notes but now I want to try more of Possets' honey perfumes.

Re: Allen Ginsberg--Howl

Howl is not at all aggressive on me, despite its namesake. This is a perfume for cuddling. It's almost all chocolate (the nice expensive dark kind, not cheapo Hersheys) when wet, and then the sandalwood and a hint of patchouli come out. It's a smooth, dark, but altogether wearable scent.

Re: Cri de Coeur

All lime and berries on me, with an undercurrent of incense (nag champa). Smells like a sexy cocktail. Nice, but I was hoping for less fruit!
