The Gingerbread Crackhouse (Yule 2007)

I got this as a frosset. I opened it and immediately caught something pungent, sharp and unpleasant. I have no idea what it is! I put it away for a bit, then tried it a couple more times...BAM the same thing hit my nose. My perfume-loving friend fell in love with it instantly and asked to keep it. A...

Wow. I'm awestruck because these are really amazing answers. It's clear that I've been carrying around a lot of burdensome "shoulds" which have dragged me down for years. Thank you, everyone, for sharing your insights, they give me a lot to work with. :rainbow: ETA: Nyx: I went through fil...

Sex with the Spirits

First impression: exactly like burnt sugar!

5 minutes on: burnt sugar but fading

Wow...it has disappeared on me completely! Hm, maybe my nose is getting used to it. This one is going to need further investigation.

Sex Juice

Frosset! I would never have picked this myself, but I'm so glad it came with my package. I didn't read the description just before testing it, so I was literally SHOCKED by the dirt. It was a funny moment, like, "oh, it's dirty--literally!" I had to put it down and do something else before...

Her Perfume (Marian)

Open bottle: Initial note is very sharp on the nose. Like very fine perfume...almost an alcohol note. On the skin: Becomes spicy quickly, with a hint of woodiness. 5 minutes later: Still very perfumy. It makes me think of scents I have tried at Macy's (sorry, I'm still learning the scent vocabulary)...

The Star (Yule 2010)

Open bottle: bright and woodsy, like a lovely forest with a spring. Lots of pine. On the skin: woodsiness, brightened by an almost-imperceptible peppermint. 5 minutes later: sexy resin and woods (like being in the woods) and...sandalwood? (Oh yes, I only just reread the description) This smells love...

I'm curious to know (particularly from Fabienne, but from anyone else who has gotten an art degree, too) what your thoughts are about art school. I am a budding artist, and I often lament that I should have gone to art school when I still had access to the funds--I chose film instead, since I was fe...

OK, Eyeliner...What's Good?

I've got the greasy eyelid problem so I never wear eyeliner, but my friend recommended to me Almay Liquid Liner. She's very goth and likes her eyes smoky and dramatic even when she goes to bed. I'd like to try it, although I don't think I could pull off such a dramatic look! :scowl:

Ross - The Cat From Inner Space

That is funny! When I was young, we had a cat named Mao that smelled like dirty socks. A little OT but maybe she wasn't the only one!

Podcasts...Anything You Would Like Me To Talk About?

Tell us your story sometime! You mention your days in art school. What led you to work in aromatherapy, and what role did you play? What kind of day jobs did you have before this (if any)? Was there a defining moment when you thought, "Wait--I should do this for a living"? I love hearing p...
