Re: The "What are you wearing today and general impressions of it" thread :)

Today I switched things up and wore Jurogumo. It's so wonderfully warming in chilly weather or on rainy days (and today was both). It lasted wonderfully in my scent locket too.

Re: The "What are you wearing today and general impressions of it" thread :)

Lately I've mostly been rotating Pachelbel's Canon, Mona Lisa, and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy--so different from each other and all so lovely. Funny, I just ordered Pachelbel's and Spanish Dancer because they are ones that keep calling me partly due to your reviews lol. I suspect I'm going to ad...

Re: Yule Retour

Today I wore Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy , which was a blind buy that I was fairly uncertain about, and I am loving it! It's amazing how some possets that I was most doubtful about turn out to be ones I'm fondest of. This is delightful, more grown-up than I'd anticipated, and more reminiscent of ...

I'm so glad you're enjoying Spanish Dance, marisaviola! I'm glad you're giving Clara's Party a try too. That is one of my most reached-for possets in winter. Lately I've mostly been rotating Pachelbel's Canon, Mona Lisa, and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy--so different from each other and all so love...

Re: Yule Retour

How did I miss Osmium??? Sounds like it's right up my alley. Lime. Lime scares me unless I'm LOOKING for something citrusy. If it's there with all sorts of other notes I love/like, I have trepidation. Lime has scared me away from some otherwise tempting ones, too, because sometimes it skews masculi...

Re: Yule Retour

Hi, Petticoats, I have a small decant left of Judith Leyster and am smelling it wet in the vial--I mostly smell a combination of clove-carnation notes and some mint in the background. I am not really picking up the lime in it or the anise. Some perfumes with anise really are too sweet or loud for m...

Re: Yule Retour

My first order arrived, and I understand now why everyone's in love with Pachelbel's Canon . It's beautiful! Elegant yet uplifting. I'm so glad I blind bought this one. I can see this becoming a wardrobe staple. I'm also really delighted with Mona Lisa . It's so much gentler and sweeter than I expec...

Re: Yule Retour

The Ruined Reputation (spice, carnation, crystal musk): sexy, spicy carnation, my very favorite carnation posset. Petticoats, how would you describe the carnation note in Ruined Reputation vs. Pre-Raphaelite Seductress, for instance? I love carnation perfumes in general (Krasnaya Moskva is a fave),...

Re: Yule Retour

I have a hankering for a deep rose scent and I was thinking Woman but civet has me a slight bit concerned. I know it has been in perfumes I have enjoyed but I have had it go rancid dumpster behind a dive bar. Also sometimes rose can go gasoline. I do like Isabella' s rose and someone said it was li...
