Re: Yule Retour

So excited about the sale! I kind of lost my head and blind bought Moonlight Sonata Pachelbel's Canon Mona Lisa Pink Festivus and for my free bottles chose Candybox Pretty and a backup of Clara's Party. Part of me wonders if I should have gotten a backup of Dies Irae instead of one of those, but at ...

Re: Yule Retour

Thank you, Petticoats! You're most welcome! I'm always happy to enable--er, I mean help. :debbil: Today I'm wearing my other favorite (besides Spanish Dance) from the Nutcrackers, Clara's Party , and oh heavens has it aged beautifully! Wonderful deep resiny goodness with enough sweet gingerbr...

Re: Yule Retour

Is Spanish Dance discontinued? I did not see it in Angi's decants list either, and it does not show up as discontinued on the main website. It sounds beautiful from the reviews. I asked Tom and Jennie, and Tom said that it's up on the site now. And it really is beautiful! Here you go: https://posse...

Re: Spanish Dance from the Nutcracker (Tchaikovsky)

I thought I'd post a new review since my feelings about this beauty changed so much after I posted my initial thoughts. This rapidly became my favorite of the 2014 Yules, tied with Clara's Party. Spanish Dance is dry, perfumy chocolate heaven. There is something about this that goes straight to the ...

Re: Yule Retour

Whoo-hoo! I love Yules. These are my favorites: Clara’s Party (black musk, Arabian frankincense, 3 golden ambers, very spicy gingerbread, and a goodly shot of black tea): an absolutely ravishing fragrance, one I reach for over and over in chilly weather. Poised between foody and resinous, with that ...

Re: Fall/Halloween Retour Recommendations and Random Thoughts

My decants arrived! Right out of the mailbox, all are winners. Mind you, my impressions may change with some time. The Flirty She-Corpse is a beautiful oakmoss that reminds me of Landscape in Suffolk. It may need some time --or my nose may--before I can really get the other notes. I think this is go...

Re: 2017 - The Year of the Retour!

I must shamefacedly admit that I'm not a fan of violet in general, but I do heartily agree that Winter (Mucha) is gorgeous. I would never have thought of putting violet and oakmoss together, but Fabienne's magical touch made them sing. I dithered over getting a decant of Bouquet de la Marechale duri...

Re: Fabienne's First Year Death Anniversary

I saw Gordon last night and am having lunch with him on Thursday. Needless to say, yesterday was a challenging day. However, he was in the company of very supportive good friends. Thank you for giving us that update, Tom. I'm glad to know that Gordon has good friends by him. It may seem frivolous, ...

Re: Fall/Halloween Retour Recommendations and Random Thoughts

I was curious if anyone knew why Osiris was not available for purchase? Was it discontinued and I just didn't notice? Not that I need more perfume but it was one from a collection prior to my finding Possets so I had hoped to try it this retour. Thank you if you have any info! Yes, I'm afraid Osiri...

Re: Fall/Halloween Retour Recommendations and Random Thoughts

My bottle order arrived! All are blind buys except for Dracula Rising , which may as well have been a blind buy since I lost track of my decant right after the collection debuted. Partus (sToa) is quietly lovely. I'm terribly afraid it may be turning into clean laundry, though--there's a white musk ...
