Oh dear, I'm so sorry! I donated and shared on Facebook. Wishing you the best of luck for Emma's treatment.

Re: The "What are you wearing today and general impressions of it" thread :)

I don't know how I'd survive in a fragrance-free workplace! As it is, my boss is sensitive to fragrance so I try not to go crazy at work, but she has never once made a complaint about anything I've worn.

Re: Summer Retour -- Random Thoughts and Review Requests

I've been having a fun time with my decants and have found some new loves: Waltzing Matilda, The Great Clod, Birth of Venus, and the Panties of Ptah. I've posted reviews of all four. I'm on the fence about Hortus (lovely but may not be "me"), Gelato: Strawberry from Syracuse, Leda and the Swan (not ...

Re: The Panties of Ptah (Egyptian Evenings, Summer 2012)

Delightful and happy and surprisingly sophisticated. It's not purely sweet and fruity; the amber is delicate but present and makes it a little more grown-up. It's a fruity fragrance rather than a fruit fragrance. It's subtle enough to be great for hot weather, too.

Re: The Great Clod (Durer)

As Fabienne's description says, this is a lovely perfume. All the elements play together so skillfully that it doesn't read as a gourmand or even a fruity fragrance; it's just a beauty. I'm not a fan of earth notes and worried that this would take over, but it recedes and becomes a team player. The ...

Re: Waltzing Matilda

This is a delight, just plain fun. I got a decant since I was worried about the cinnamon, which tends to amp like mad on me, but Fabienne must have been true to her word that that there is only a "grain" of it in this blend since it's not overpowering at all, quite in balance. To me the banana is on...

Re: Birth of Venus (Botticelli)

Because I usually don't click with citrus or aquatics I figured this was a long shot, but I’m really glad I took a chance on a decant. When it first arrived it was overwhelmingly jasmine, so I gave it some time to settle down, and now everything is in harmony. I can't really pick out the aquatic ele...

As I recall it reminded me of Bit-O-Honey candy. I'll be glad to send you a q-tip if you like.

I love using Prestidigitazione as a layer, so today I layered it with Indult's Manakara, a lychee-rose perfume. They worked gorgeously together. When they needed touching up I used Scylla, since it combines fig and lychee--gorgeous!

Re: The "What are you wearing today and general impressions of it" thread :)

I got out Evil Eye in honor of retour. It's one of many beautiful Possets that just don't get enough wear because I have so many. I picked up a big bottle at a previous retour, and it's just delightful. It's one of the few ginger fragrances I can wear in warm weather--it doesn't feel overpowering. I...
