Re: Halloween-What Do You Wish You Would See?

I love your list funkmoppet! Additional demons/spirits that I like are.. Jorōgumo : A japanese spider demon. Often they lure in unsuspecting men by being beautiful women playing music. When her victim is distracted she ties him up in silk and later devours him! Kelpie : A scottish water spirit that ...

Re: Halloween-What Do You Wish You Would See?

,Maya! I love those two ideas soooo much! spices, wood, earth and smoke. And sugar, ofcourse. Those are the kinds of smells I think of for halloween. I would love a spicy, smokey, resinous scent with just a touch of something sweet. As for a theme, monsters and mythical creatures! Werewolves, Zombie...

Re: The Duchess of Alba (Goya)

This is a really interesting one. In the vial it is qute grapey, but a true grape rather than the candy kind. The moment it hits my skin though? bam! spice! I really don't notice the grape in either the wet or dry phases except for maybe as a subtle sweetness. This is spicey and musky and I could se...

Re: Musk

I have discovered a new favorite musky posset and that is Arizona: Sage and Honeycomb. So good! I sometimes have problems with honey but this one is non-stinky on me. I would describe the musk in this as 'warm' like a summer night.

Re: Favorite Classical Music

In terms of traditional classical music I have always loved Danse Macabre and Beethovens Moonlight Sonata. I am also in the same boat as Chime and Petticoats. I looove movie scores. My current favorites are `the gravel road` from The Village (not the best movie but what a beautiful soundtrack), &quo...

Re: incense

I will also echo the love of Midnight Mass at Old St. Mary's. It didn"t get tons of love but I am pretty fond of Silver Incense, it does have a wood-smoke kind of quality too it I like that about it alot. Also, not exactly incense but Arabian Dance of the Nutcracker has the most beautiful smoke...

Re: Retour recommendations!

Cordelia, Annemathematics, Minh - thank you! Of the Retour-only perfumes mentioned, I already have 14 Carnations and I love it. :heartrise: Black Hole is on my list but I'm a little bit worried about the pepper, which can be an iffy note on me. Dracula Rising, though - how did I miss this one?? It ...

Re: Patchouli

I looove patchouli. My favorite blends with patch are: Dracula Rising (Halloween 2014): I think people have seen my rave about this one alot, so earthy, really like the sharpness of wet earth. It may be the other notes in it that do that but oh man, so good. Romping Skyclad: I think the Fir and crys...

Re: The Great Clod (Durer)

In the vial: Bright and fruity and not "candley" as pomegranate tends to be to my nose. Wet: very fruity but in a "grounded" way as Mina says. Kind of syrupy rather than fresh fruit? I like it. Not getting much greanery or earth though. At this stage it sort of reminds me of Roma...

Re: Lester the Black Cat (2014)

So good! This actually reminds me alot of BPAL's Shubniggurath but with an added earthiness(probably from the Patch). So I would describe this scent as sweet, gingerbreadish (but not too foody) and earthy. I have just a decant for now and have already made me retour purchase but I would definitely s...
