Re: Hallelujah! (Handel)
I never would have guessed it from the listed notes, but this one is somewhat similar to Bacchante - except more well-behaved. The combination results in a sweetish musky scent with a slight (well-behaved!) patchouli undertone, even though patchouli is not a note here. Indeed quite elegant and simpl...

ISO Autumn (Vivaldi)
Will be happy to take an unloved bottle of Autumn (Vivaldi) off of someone's hands to a good home!

Re: Yule Retour
Today I wore Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy , which was a blind buy that I was fairly uncertain about, and I am loving it! It's amazing how some possets that I was most doubtful about turn out to be ones I'm fondest of. This is delightful, more grown-up than I'd anticipated, and more reminiscent of ...

Re: Yule Retour
I'm still going through my blind-buys, but the vast majority are an unequivocal success! Yule Possets scents are very special to me, as the Yule 2014 collection was my first experience of Fabienne's work. Silver Licorice - exactly what it sounds like. It is so well-blended that I almost cried when I...

Re: Clara's Party from the Nutcracker
A few years of aging have really made a difference! This is now a memory-inducing concotion of tea, frankincense and something yummy and mysterious in the background (probably the gingerbread and coffee). A Nutcracker party if there ever was one - no wonder the mice wanted to parttake! Anyway, reall...

Re: Christmas in New Orleans (Yule 2006)
Took out my bottle and resampled. My, it is gorgeous! I really smell the flowers with a Christmas feel to it. To me, it smells like poinsettas in a humid greenhouse - a scent I associate with Longwood Gardens in PA during Christmas.

Re: Yule Retour
Petticoats, how would you describe the carnation note in Ruined Reputation vs. Pre-Raphaelite Seductress, for instance? I love carnation perfumes in general (Krasnaya Moskva is a fave), but the few I've sampled from Possets (Pre-Raphaelite Seductress included) tend to smell like ketchup on me. But ...

Re: The Russian Dance from the Nutcracker (Tchaikovsky)
Took out my bottle last night - this has really aged beautifully over the past years! All the spices have fully mulled and the gingerbread is even more gorgeous. This used to be dry on me, now it has a creamy feel. Love it!

Re: Dance of the Hours (Ponchielli)
On me, this fragrance smells unexpectedly dry and woody. Mint and coconut on a woody base. Similar to the other reviewers, I'm not getting any lemon. Wasn't really my thing, but I guess you can't win them all!

Re: Moonlight Sonata (Beethoven)
On me, this starts off quite sexy - the raspberries, almond and spices meld together to give an almost carnation-like hue to this fragrance. I love this initial phase. However, after an hour or so it settles on me into pure raspberries. I have enough pure raspberry scents, so decided to pass this on...
