Aww, Moonie was too spicy for me, I think there's cinnamon in him which is my death note.

I feel guilty about it though because he looks *so* adorable on the label & reminds me of my Dad's old Siamese cat, Mai Ling.

This scent reminds me of one of those import shops where you buy tea and incense. I can smell sandalwood and cinnamon, and a faint hint of something herbal, like sage. It has good staying power, too.

Yay! Moonie is one of the first scents with overt spice that actually works on me! :excited:

I don't get gingerbread at all, though. None of the previous gingerbreads appeal to me. Maybe my nose is broken from all the testing I've done in the past three days, but what I get is a woodsy scent. There is a candle out there somewhere called "Exotic Woods", and it's in that zone, with a hint of amber (another iffy note on my skin), possibly cedar. It doesn't smell foody or like incense at all to me. (ETA to add: Late in its drydown it does smell like incense, one of the high-quality Japanese type that I currently own, but this in no way detracts from its appeal!) It is very masculine, and is definitely a good scent for a man. It's warm, soft, comforting, and pretty. Moonie has just earned a place among my top Possets ever and I can't wait to debut Moonie out in the world, especially for my friends who have similar noses to mine.

What a lovely gentle spice blend! These never work on me - I smell like bad potpourri - but this smells naturally spicy without smelling like baked goods. It's not too sweet, resiny without being harsh. I don't get cedar, which usually turns to pencil shavings on me (though it might be a different variety). This is something I will definitely enjoy wearing on cold autumn/winter nights.

I got a frosset of this in my last order. I like it just fine (it does bear a strong resemblance to Over-The-Rhine, which I adore). But the big news is that my husband ADORES it, because it is reminiscent of his discontinued favorite shower gel, TRAMP by Lush. It has a similar green/patchouli aspect but it is spicier than Tramp. Lasts a good long time as well. Try it on yourself or your favorite fellow.

On me, Moonie is a spicy resiny scent (I don't smell gingerbread or patchouli as single notes). He really smells wonderful - plus I think he's a gorgeous cat!

I got this as a frosset in my last order. He had been on my to try list, so I squeeed with glee when I saw him and set him aside to try on a day I "needed" some spice. Today was that day.

As soon as I put him on, I regretted not trying him sooner. Oh Moonie is so gorgeous. As mentioned by others, Moonie reminds me of a "cleaner" Gingerbread Whorehouse (closer, perhaps, to Gingerbread Crackhouse), and to me has a slightly more masculine edge--although the resins do go more golden and less manly on me (some resins amp on me to the point of being unbearably strong and masculine, but this one doesn't). The spices are perfectly perfect and provided just the right comfort and support I needed today.

This isn't a beautiful as in soft and pretty. This is beautiful with strength and backbone and heart, and I love it!

I never really thought I was an "oriental" perfume person in years before, but so far the scents I tend to adore (and work amazingly well on me) seem to be some form of twisted oriental. A full bottle of Moonie has now gone on my wish list.

I was in a cafe recently and found myself enchanted by the scent worn by the woman sitting next to me. Deep down, I knew the scent from somewhere, but I couldn't place it right away. Then I remembered: Moonie! My sample was long gone thanks to my recent interstate move, so I picked up a bottle right away. Hands down my favorite Posset. Ever.

Moonie is the perfect scent for a familiar, beloved older gentleman, like your favorite uncle maybe. I wear it in the evening sometimes while I'm reading in bed, even though it is a masculine fragrance. It is spicy but not too macho, I find it comforting.

A guy who wears Moonie could wear suspenders, and look so cute in them you'd want to give him a hug. I imagine he's kind of fellow who is more comfortable in a log cabin than a penthouse suite. The real Moonie must be a very charming kitty if he inspired this scent.

I love spicy, oriental fragrances, so I was thrilled to get the chance to try Moonie, which I'd heard so much about. It did not disappoint. Quite the contrary--now I'm in mourning along with all its other fans that it had to be discontinued!

In bottle: spicy and exotic—I may fall in love.

Wet on skin: hot spice, gourmand, something mellow underneath, like spice cake.

Drying down: Now the mellowness has stepped back and a clovier, deeper spice note is developing. It’s like the way I’d like Over the Rhine to smell! (My skin amps clove so much that that takes over OTR for me.) I think it’s got something ambery underneath the clove. Maybe incense as well. But also with that smooth buttery quality like Abraxos, another favorite. Oh my. I swoon.

Moonie is gorgeous--dramatic, sexy, exotic, yet warmly enveloping. I'm going to have to do some layering experiments to try to recapture something of its effect once I use up my precious set of vials.
