Possets description: Heady and hot, like a 13th love note asking for another tryst. Deep, dark, murky, and very long lasting. Red musk, patchouli, a classic blend of several resins (known as a shamama), a bit of African Musk. this might be thought of as being pretty simple at first, but let the fragrance seep into your subconscious and find out how complex it really is. Earthy and sexy.

This is sharper than I had expected. I think that may be the "shamama." At the moment I am having difficulty smelling beyond that. This one may need a week or two for the various other elements to come into their own.

Trying this one again, I find I enjoy the drydown a lot, but for some strange reason my nose is telling me ROSE upon initial application. Maybe that is just how my nose is interpreting the blend of resins in the shamama? Anyhoo. I do like the drydown quite a lot, it's just that sharp, almost soapy, almost floral thing going on when it's wet that is throwing me for a loop. The drydown is sexy and lush, and very difficult to pick apart into individual elements. I'm thinking that with age the harshness of the initial resin blast will back down and this will become even more wearable for me.

So far with this one it's just Red Musk! Which is lovely but doesn't give me much to work with for a review.
I'm going to give it another try over the weekend in the hope I'll have more to say. I like it now and I also think it will age well. I just can't come up with anything else though. Oh, other than I found it a little sharp in the bottle. Much better on skin. Perhaps my chemistry amps red musk. In fact, I'm pretty sure of that. Fortunately they play nice togther. :hrt::

I was afraid that his would be sharp from the earlier reviews, but on my skin it was not. Definitely a red musk is the dominant player here, warm and sexy. There are resins here, but the scent is not heavy... it's sort of translucent and glowing. It reminds me of amber blends like Death and The Huile of Fortune in its "glowy" nature, with the stickiness/fuzziness of the red musk with its slightly fruity aspect. It isn't powdery or creamy - its drydown is almost velvety. It's a bit earthy, a bit naughty in the way that red musk is. The slight sweetness/fruitiness of the red musk makes me think of wine, though there is not an actual "wine" scent. I think it's very sexy. It's well-blended, a rounded whole scent, and I bet it will age into an even deeper lushness. This is more of a special occasion perfume than an everyday perfume to my nose. It's sophisticated, rich, heady, and sexy. It's decadent. It could be unisex, if the man likes heavier spicier scents and can handle some sweetness.

My skin amps the red musk in this, and I'm finding that that's not one of my favorite notes. This seems to be a similar exotic, sexy type to Fire Flakes and Shah & Mumtaz, except that I like those a lot more. At first 13th has almost a honeyed note on my skin, which is lovely, but then it starts getting loud and the red musk takes over. This is ultimately too assertive on me, not a good fit, but red musk lovers should certainly try it.

This is very smutty. The red musk is the most prominent note by far. The patchouli is nice but I don't know what Shamama is. It smells like nag champa with some mums and rose mixed in. The 13th Love Note is similar to Shah Jamal & Sweet Arabia. This has heavy sillage and lasts forever.
