A bunch of things! Testing Isabella- somewhat agressively cheerful rose, smoothed with cream and musk. Nice, but maybe too much rose
Beatrice-sweet vanilla musk. Nice
Guffaw-something in it isn't liking me. Is there smoke? That could be the culprit
retest of Great Psychiatrist of Babylon- too woody/harsh booze. Smells great in the vial. I lost the butterscotch like scent as soon as my skin touched it.
Retest Silver Amber- less bbw, more it's s own sweet and rich scent. Staying power decent.

I am starting out the day with Shah Jahan & Mumtaz Mahal. My instinct was right on this, as I ordered a full bottle non tested. It is an exotic morpher, starting first off with a kiss of sweet floral...I initially thought a light sugared rose, but it must be the geranium beckoning me through a northern Indian spice market, where they have incense burning in the stalls of colorful spice. We are ending with that incense smell, now accompanied by another floral... ah yes, ilang ilang...sweet familiarity of the leaf cups of yellowish white blossoms I buy at my local market in Hanoi.

Cri de Coeur, I always need it when summer gets here. My favorite coconut perfume of all time.

I was really into indie perfume around 5 years ago, and then I got sick of it it (too much money spent, not allowed to wear it at work, husband hated it all, I got really picky, etc) and slowly got rid of everything.. except for Silver Carnations! I wore it on my honeymoon in October 2009 so I couldn't bear to get rid of it. I miss perfume now, so I am now wearing 6 year old Silver Carnations and it is lovely! Spicy but not too spicy for summer. Creamy-spicy. Yeah.

Today I'm not wearing a posset, but it's a fragrance that reminds me strongly of a posset: Keiko Mecheri's Les Bohemes. The drydown reminds me so much of The Damned Flower, that combination of musky, dry, and tangy. No orris is listed among the Bohemes notes, but I can't help wondering if some is in there.

The sillage of Bohemes is very, very subtle, so I think I'm going to try layering it over TDF and see how that works.

I've been revisiting Possets from past Summer Collections. Yesterday was Gelato: Blood Orange which makes me do the broken record/whining thing and wonder once again how this did not become permanent. Today was Lord Byron - She Walks... which fortunately is permanent. This one is so good and brings back random scent memories.

Got my summer order today. I have on dabs of Seaside, Jane Small, Leda, and Windmill. I smell wonderful! Only minor snafu, I got 5ml bottles for the 10mls I ordered, but I know Fabienne will fix it. I am betting it was simply because of the change to the new site where we now have the handy drop down list of sizes.

I'm challenging myself to wear a different posset perfume everyday until I wear everything in my collection. I find myself grabbing the same scents over and over.

Today it is A Haiku-Bashu Pond. I absolutely adore this. So soft and feminine. I need to add it to my ever growing retour list.

Jackieo, good for you going through your collection. I try that, but get a heavy craving for a scent. (Which is why I got through a bottle of Arrival if the Queen of Sheba so quickly!!!!!
Today, Boughs!!!! Even though this is a winter scent, the basam/evergreens are so fresh for the heat. Beautiful! (Ducking head, hoping Stellamaris does not hear) I think I even prefer it to Nocturne (which I love!!) Interesting, when I asked, Fabienne the difference between the two, she said Nocturne shows how she has grown as a perfumer. Two fab perfumes in my book!!!!!!
