Resins, the ylang ylang and geranium, incense. I can only wear a drop of this at a time. Otherwise, it is so strong I can practically taste it. It is absolutely lovely, but I really have to be in the mood to wear this.

:heartrise: this is a morpher on me, and each chapter is beautiful.

Wet and early on this scent evokes Indian shops: the spices, the silks, cases full of fudge-like sweets and shelves packed with perfumed soaps, alma shampoos, the incenses and sandalwood fans. I think it's the combo of rich red musk and patchouli that's taking me there.

There's a little dance over the next two hours where these notes whirl about with their beautiful partner, vanilla and ylang ylang, on a wooden (oude?) dance floor.

At the end, the ylang ylang and vanilla reigns. This is lightly sweet without being foody. Despite my mention of soaps and shampoo, this is never soapy. It's rich and complex. :hrt::

I love this. It smells very similar to a custom perfume I had made 6 or so years ago. Except better as i'm not as fond of the main note as i was. On me, the flowers, musk, vanilla and I think patchouli combine into a heady, rich incensey scent. There's a depth to this thanks to the vanilla, and it's not like most red musk scents I own.

Oh my goodness, this has rocketed to the top of the "beloveds". I love heavy, sexy musky perfumes and this fits the bill. I didn't read the notes before I indulged and I thought I was getting an illusive rose at the opening, which of course was the geranium. This is so well blended, the musk, patch and ilang ilang give off an almost Nag Champa vibe. The vanilla takes it up a notch in the luscious category. Stunning. (If there are any BPAL fans out there, Snake Oil Hair Gloss is the perfect companion to this!)
